Apples Post-PC Philosophy

A couple of days ago, I wrote an article where I was attempting to explain my belief that Apple has, at it's WWDC Keynote Address, delivered a broadside to computing in general, not only in terms of how we use computers and mobile devices but also how we think about and interact with those devices. I honestly believe that this will be a paradigm change that we may not understand all of the implications of, until a few months down the line.

The Keynote for me also conveyed a sense that Jobs was seeing the culmination (perhaps?) of his vision or dream as to where technology is going and its place in our lives. It could also be though, that it is simply a vision that he has tried to deliver in different iterations in the past but only now have all of the pieces been able to come into play at the right time, meaning that the technology is capable of meeting the requirements and that we as people are capable of understanding and taking advantage of such technology or that we are simply ready to receive it. In any case, I had that sense, this idea that something of import, was taking place.

Upon reading about the Keynote and the advances made with Lion and iOS, I have came across numerous articles and opinions whose authors seemed to have had the same impression as I did. One of them also wrote a nice article that sums some of these points up nicely.
