The Post with no Title
Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 4:57PM Its been a fairly eventful and busy past couple of days, first of all I had some problems with my car that entailed getting it towed to a garage and repaired, which ended up being a bigger shock to my wallet than I hoped and on top of that we have all been ill again for the past couple of weeks, which hasn't made things any easier.
Outside of life complicating things though, I have been running on my newly installed Macbook Pro for a few days now and its nice how fast it is again, although I have had a couple of weird things happen, for example when I was working on my book in Scrivener, it the screen suddenly turned blue and then it logged me out. o_O
I can also put the USB_IO error down to Watts and have uninstalled it for the time being and replaced it with slimbattery monitor.
I finally got around to setting up a scheduled Chronosync job to back up my writing and a couple of other folders to Dropbox, so I have an offsite backup just in case.
While reading over at Mac360 I also came across SyncPhotos, which promises to keep iPhoto libraries in sync, which should solve a long standing issue that I have had had at home with making sure that iPhoto libraries match between machines. Now I just need to work out an elegant way to work Aperture into the fold, as that's where I usually work and maintain the iPhoto library just for simplicity.
Speaking of photos, I have also in honour of the occasion created a blank iPhoto library and I am currently re-importing the photos back into it month by month and going through them checking for duplicates and blurred photos that are not worth keeping (for the duplicates I am using Duplicate Annihilator and Duplifinder). This will take a while though because I have a lot of photos to go through and I need to focus on the book first and foremost.
Still using Omnifocus, haven't quite got into the checking it in the morning and evening routine yet but at least I'm still using it, so baby steps ;)
